Adventure Races

Planet Adventure Amazing Adventure Series

In 2008 we introduced the "Carmel Triple Challenge", a shorter course race for families, beginners, or anyone who wants a little adventure in their lives!

The Carmel Amazing Adventure and the Horizon Amazing Adventure are team-oriented adventure events through the streets, parks and waterways of Carmel, Fishers and Indianapolis.

Teams consisting of two or three (ages 8 and up) will work together to travel through the course on foot, by bike or paddle power, conquering several fun mental and physical challenges along the way. Adding to the excitement, your team will navigate the course using street and orienteering maps.

Planet Adventure 24 & Old School 2009

For 2009, in addition to the traditional Planet Adventure 24-hour Challenge, we are introducing the “Old School” race. Re-inventing the feel, atmosphere and spirit of the earlier days of adventure racing is what the Old School race is all about. In 1989 when Gerald Fusil's launched the Raid Gauloises, the first modern day adventure, Fusil envisioned an expanded expedition-style race in which competitors would rely on their own strength and abilities to traverse great and challenging terrain. Mother Nature and the environment was your true competitor. The Old school will be geared for teams that have done expedition races or have been thinking about one. Successful teams will have to work well together to stay efficient and over come adversity.

Planet Adventure Sprint 2009

The Planet Adventure Sprint Adventure Race packs all the same race disciplines of the Planet Adventure 24-Hour Challenge Race into 4-6 hours of challenging fun and teamwork. Through the years we have prided ourselves in taking the extra effort to set up elaborate challenges not common in many sprint races. This years race has moved earlier in the year, a great primer to start your season.

Planet Adventure Urban Sprint 2009

The Planet Adventure Urban Sprint is a 4-6 hours, team-oriented event through the streets, alleys waterways, and outlying areas of Indianapolis.

NSAAR 2009 : Women's Only Adventure Race

NSAAR LogoThe No Skirts Allowed Adventure Race (NSAAR) is a women's adventure race -- a team event that combines mountain biking (on road & trail), canoeing, trail running/hiking, orienteering/navigation, and surprise mystery events. Teams consist of two or three women. All team members must start and finish together, covering the entire course together. The actual distances, course layout and order of events will not be disclosed until race day.
